Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 8, 2026 · Last Updated: June 8, 2026 · Version 1.0
Your story is yours. The Unstoppable program is operated by Health Matters Clinic, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Los Angeles. This page explains what data we collect when you share a story, RSVP to an event, or browse this site, how we use it, and the rights you have under California law. We do not sell your personal information.
01 Who We Are
Health Matters Clinic ("HMC," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Unstoppable program at teamhmc.github.io/Unstoppable. Unstoppable is a community-built mental health program for Black and underserved Los Angeles, including a workshop curriculum, monthly walks and runs, wellness meetups, and a podcast series.
This Privacy Policy covers data collected through the Unstoppable site, its forms, and its event pages. It does not cover personal health information collected during clinical care, which is governed by separate HIPAA notices provided at the point of service.
02 What This Page Covers
This policy applies to:
- The Unstoppable landing site and its sub-pages (this site)
- The story submission form on this site
- The facilitator and CEU registration form linked from this site
- Embedded RSVP flows that link out to the HMC Event Finder
When you click a link to a different HMC platform (Event Finder, Partner Portal, CalmKit) or to a third-party service (YouTube, Eventbrite, Gumroad), that platform's own privacy policy applies once you leave this site.
03 What We Collect
3.1 Story Submissions
When you share your story through the Unstoppable form, we collect only what you choose to enter:
- Name (or initials, or a pseudonym if you prefer)
- Email address
- City or neighborhood
- Organization or affiliation (optional)
- One social or professional link (optional)
- The story text you write
- Consent flags confirming you are over 18 and grant HMC permission to publish your story
Stories are submitted to the HMC public stories endpoint at /api/public/unstoppable-stories, hosted on Google Cloud Run in the United States. Submissions are reviewed by HMC staff before any public publication.
3.2 Site Visit Data
When you visit this site, our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) and basic analytics may automatically log:
- IP address (truncated)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device type
- Pages visited and time on page
- Referring URL
This information helps us understand which sections of the program resonate and which need work. It is not used to identify individual visitors.
3.3 Cookies and Local Storage
This site uses only essential cookies and local storage. See the Cookie Policy for the full list.
04 How We Use Your Data
We use the data above to:
- Review and, where you consent, publish your story as part of the Unstoppable program
- Reply to you by email if your story needs follow-up before publication
- Send confirmation when you submit a story or register for an event (transactional only)
- Understand which parts of the site help the most people
- Improve the workshop, walks, meetups, and podcast based on what the community tells us
- Comply with legal obligations, including grant and nonprofit reporting
We do not use your story or contact information to send marketing email unless you opt in separately on a different HMC platform.
05 How We Share Your Data
We do not sell your personal information.
We share data only in these limited cases:
- Story publication you consent to. If you grant publication permission on the form, your story (with the name or pseudonym you supplied) may be posted on the Unstoppable site, the HMC site, or HMC social channels.
- Service providers we rely on. Google Cloud (hosting, storage), GitHub Pages (static hosting), and email delivery providers process limited data on our behalf under contract.
- Aggregate reporting. Aggregated, de-identified counts (for example, "we received 120 stories this quarter") may appear in grant reports to LACDMH and other funders.
- Legal compliance. If required by law, court order, or to prevent imminent harm.
We do not share story data with advertisers, data brokers, or partner organizations for marketing purposes.
06 How Long We Keep Your Data
- Story submissions: retained for as long as the Unstoppable program is active, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Email follow-up records: 24 months from the last contact.
- Site analytics: aggregated and retained for up to 26 months; raw IP-level logs are discarded after 90 days.
You can ask us to delete your story or contact data at any time using the email address in Section 9.
07 Security
Story submissions travel over HTTPS to a Google Cloud Run service hosted in the United States. Access to stored stories is limited to a small group of HMC staff and contractors under written confidentiality terms. We use authentication, audit logging, and routine backups. No internet system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection, but we take the trust you place in us seriously.

You have the right to:
- Ask what information we hold about you
